Lexmark T650/T652/T654 Laser Engine
Part of a massive rollout of 38 new Lexmark printers back in late 2008, the T650 Series is a 45-55 ppm monochrome workgroup printer which was released at the relatively low price of $699.
According to Lexmark, it employs the same core architecture as previous T series but with some improvements.
These include certain ‘green’ features as well as a new gear train that allows parts to move more smoothly and quietly. It also has intelligent darkness adjustors to monitor and control print quality.
The T650 printer series takes a standard yield (7,000 pages), high yield (25,000 pages) and extra high yield (36,000 pages) toner cartridge, all which contain a new type of toner with a smaller particle size.
Although the initial price point was low, the T650 printer has a higher cost per page than any competing monochrome printer in its segment (1.7 cents).
