HP 4700 Laser Engine
Printer History: Released in October 2006 as the replacement to the Color LaserJet® 4650 series.
Hardware Information: Delivers 31 ppm with a first page out in 10 seconds and a monthly duty cycle of 100,000 pages. The model 4730 adds copier and scanner functions with more standard memory and a built-in hard drive.
OEM Cartridge Information: While sharing many components, the toner cartridges for the two series are not compatible. In the 4700 series, a black toner cartridge (Q5950A) yields 11,000 pages at 5% coverage while the color cartridges (Q5951A, Q5952A, Q5953A) yield 10,000 pages. The black and color cartridges for the 4730 series (Q6460A, Q6461A, Q6462A, Q6463A) yield 12,000 pages at 5% coverage.
